The Office of Naval Research has recognized the outstanding accomplishments of the Great Lakes Division Sea Cadets, Officers and Instructors  and has awarded the prestigious ONR Science Achievement Ribbon Award for the third time to divers who earned certification in the GREAT LAKES RESEARCH DIVER SPECIALTY and participated in the continuing GREAT LAKES, ANCIENT SHORES project and the sixth
documentary film in 2007.

Officers/Instructors applying for their second ONR Science Achievement Award include:
LT Kathy Trax and LCDR Luke Clyburn.

Cadets from Sea Cadet units across the nation who trained with the Great Lakes Division and earned the GREAT LAKES RESEARCH DIVER certification were also
eligible to apply for this award.  Cadets from Florida, Oklahoma, Illinois, Ohio and New York as well as other Michigan Sea Cadet units participated in this training opportunity.

The documentary premiered in December 2007.
