May 23-27, 2008 MEMORIAL DAY TRAINING SESSION
Open to 16 male cadets; 4 Female cadets (female cadets overnight ashore with qualified escort)
Shipboard experience in Lake Huron, Training in Man Overboard, Damage Control, Fire Fighting, Ship Handling, Navigation, Underwater Communication Equipment. Cadet need not be a certified diver.

Certification in ONE of the following DAN (Divers Alert Network) Courses
Oxygen First Aid for SCUBA Diver Injuries
Advanced Oxygen Administration
A.E.D. - Automated Electronic Defibrillation for SCUBA Diving Injuries
Neurological Accessment for SCUBA Diver Injuries
June 27 - July 6, 2008    FIRST 10 DAY SCUBA TRAINING SESSION
Open to 16 qualified male cadets; 4 Female cadets (female cadets overnight ashore with escort)
Shipboard experience in Lake Huron, Training in Man Overboard, Damage Control,
Fire Fighting, Ship Handling, Navigation, Underwater Communication Equipment.
Cadet must be a certified diver.
E-2, 14 years of age, excellent physical condition, weight/height ratio normal.

Certification in ONE (1) of the following:
SCUBA Certification in PADI Advanced Open Water
SCUBA Certification in PADI Underwater Photography (for Research Documentation)
SCUBA Certification in PADI Underwater Videography (for Research Documentation)
Introduction to Scientific Diviing  AAUS (American Academy of Underwater Scientists)
NOAA Officer, Diver, Archeologist participation. Former Cousteau Chief Diver Blair Mott aboard with Photographer and designer of Force Fins, Bob Evans.  Port of Call: Alpena, Michigan
July 10 - July 14,  2008  5 DAY TRAINING SESSION
Open to 16 qualified male cadets; 4 Female cadets (female cadets daytime only)
Shipboard experience in Lake Huron, Training in Man Overboard, Damage Control,
Fire Fighting, Ship Handling, Navigation, Underwater Communication Equipment
Cadet must be a certified diver.

DAN Certification in ONE (1) of the following or other DAN Emergency Care Courses:
Oxygen First Aid for SCUBA Diver Injuries
Advanced Oxygen Administration
A.E.D. - Automated Electronic Defibrillation for SCUBA Diving Injuries
Neurological Accessment for SCUBA Diver Injuries
August 1- August 10, 2008   SECOND 10 DAY SCUBA TRAINING SESSION
Open to 16 qualified male cadets; 4 Female cadets (female cadets overnight ashore with escort)
Shipboard experience in Upper Lake Huron,  Straits of Mackinac and Upper Lake Michigan. Training in Man Overboard, Damage Control,Fire Fighting, Ship Handling, Navigation, Underwater Communication Equipment.
Cadet must be a certified diver.
E-2, 14 years of age, excellent physical condition, weight/height ratio normal.  

Certification in ONE (1) of the following:
SCUBA Certification in PADI Advanced Open Water
SCUBA Certification in PADI Great Lakes Research Diver Specialty
SCUBA Certification SEARCH AND RECOVERY
SCUBA Certification in PADI Underwater Photography (for Research Documentation)
Introduction to Scientific Diviing  AAUS (American Academy of Underwater Scientists)

NOAA Officer, Diver, Archeologist participation.  Ports of Call:  Alpena, St.Ignace and Mackinac Island

REGISTRATION IS MARCH 15 at Cranbrook Institute of Science.
Deposit required for Training Materials.
CLASS AND POOL DATES ARE SCHEDULED IN APRIL 12 &13 ALL DAY both days.
Open Water dives take place after Memorial Day.
