Dive Certification: Dive Operations are conducted in the Great Lakes
Hands On experience in ship handling and navigational skills in operating the 81 ft.
PRIDE OF MICHIGAN and small support craft.
Engine room operations, Engine and generator maintenance and repair.
PADI (Professional Association of Dive Instructors) Certification in Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, and Specialties including Wreck Diving, Search and Recovery, Deep Diving, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Underwater Photography and Videography, Underwater Naturalist and Dry Suit Diving.
Dive Certification: Great Lakes Research Diver Specialty
We are the only facility offering a Specialty in Great Lakes Research Diving.
This training, coupled with participation in one of our Underwater Research Projects
enables you to apply for the Office of Naval Research Science Achievement Award.
The Great Lakes Division Sea Cadet program provides real life experience in maritime and underwater exploration and training. With highly qualified staff aboard the Research / Training Vessel, PRIDE OF MICHIGAN and support craft, professionally led missions are conducted throughout the Great Lakes system.
Each season, we produce a documentary science film which combines science, history or natural history and features those who train and staff this remarkable program. Our award winning films have achieved recognition in the industry winning both Telly and Communicator Awards.
